First Responders and Military

1493560670Few understand the workings of your life.

Therapists are included in that camp. Most of them are civilians living civilian lives.

But you need someone to talk to.

And you can’t bear the thought of explaining every acronym or why you love your job more than almost anything.

“Can they handle it?”

You’ve probably seen all those soft-spoken therapists on TV. You don’t know if they could handle your no-bullshit approach to life.

If you’re going to get help, you need someone who encourages you in your career while also helping you balance your personal life.

You need clear steps to reach your goals. Not a therapist who “just listens.”

1671900784I am someone who can help.

It’s not easy seeing the things you see. I know you regularly experience traumas and loss… and work harder than most people.

Your dedication to serving others is honorable, and you want to keep doing it, but this life purpose has left you hurting… emotionally and physically.

As a former military spouse of nearly ten years, I was very involved in the active duty Army community.

I volunteered whenever I could, being FRG leader, PCSing overseas to Italy (173rd Infantry Brigade, 1-503rd and HHC). I also managed home life in a foreign country while experiencing the heaviness of military life.

I know firsthand how it takes a toll on marriages and mental health.

I don’t claim to know what it’s like…

… to be a soldier, airman, or Marine…

… or a firefighter or police officer…

But thanks to my marriage to a soldier, all the warriors who were vulnerable with me about their experiences, and the current and former first-responder and military clients who have trusted me as their therapist…

I have enough experience to know this shit’s no joke.

You’ve been running on empty for too long…

Let’s get out of the darkness and fill your cup again.

I know how important confidentiality is to you. Since I am out of network, you don’t have to file with Tricare or other government insurance. You pay out of pocket.

I look forward to meeting you and answering your questions.
